Cord. Blanca current conditions

Hello, did anyone active here climbed the usual easier peaks in Cordilerra Blanca in the last days and can tell something about the current glacier situation (steepness, large crevasses, bridges etc.) on Ishinca, Pisco, Yannapaccha, Chopiqalqui?

Thanks a lot!

I would like to ask a question about hiking the Via Spluga. I cannot seem to find any information about hiking the area from Chiavenna to Thusis.
Hike 1 chiavenna to Isola, bus back to chiavenna
Hike 2 Bus to Isola then hike to Splugen, bus back to Chiavenna
Hike 3 Bus to Thusis, walk to Andeer, visit Gola Della Viamala Gorge, then bus back to Chiavenna.

Morgenhorn, Wyssi frau and Blüemlisalphorn

I bought this book 'Wildhorn/Wildstrubel blüemlisalp from Ueli Mosimann (SAC)(2011)
He states that the Morgenhorn from NorthWest is ZS (Ziemlich Schwierig = AD). But when I browse Summitpost:
https://www.summitpost.org/bl-emlisalp-group/150804
I see PD.

Same for Wyssi frau and Blüemlisalphorn.

Which is the correct grade? Why is there such a difference in those gradings?

Are there alot of dangerous crevasses in the morgenhorn glacier?

Mountain Hut Booking on Mt Fuji - advice Mountain Hut Booking on Mt Fuji - advice

Morning all, newb posting!

I'm heading to Japan in a month and preparing to climb Fuji during the last days of the trip. In all the research I've done, I haven't figured out how the mountain huts work. Do you call ahead and book same day? Several days ahead? Can you pay over the phone or does it have to be cash? I'll be there in peak climbing season, around mid-July ...

Climbing and Hiking with my young daughter

I originally posted this on the wrong site, the partners site.

I am going to Switzerland July 15 to 25 with my 8 year old daughter. We are going to do some hiking and climbing. She is a pretty good climber; she has been climbing outdoor rock since age 3, is comfortable doing 5.8-5.9, can rappel solo, has experience in the Gunks and in the domes of Tuolumne Meadows. My original intent was to do ...

Russian visa trouble?

Hi there,

Aiming for Elbrus next September (I have the first two weeks off). I was wondering how likely there will be significant delay or other issues getting Russian visas for US citizens? I am dual (Swiss as well) but would rather not have to get a Swiss passport unless it will be necessary to get the visa.

Anyone with relevant knowledge or educated guesses who would like to share their thoughts would be greatly ...

GR11 Traverse of Spanish Pyrenees with dog

Hi there,

I'm planning on attempting the GR11 traverse of the pyrenees from the Spanish side this summer (approx start dates: 15-30 of June). The plan is to take my dog with me as my furry adventure partner. We go on multiple hikes on a weekly basis and have done various overnights. She can also carry her own food and water. So far I've planned to camp pretty much every night.

My question is: has ...
