This classified forum doesn't seem to be very active, but figured I'd try my luck here anyway. In trying to find the perfect combination of boot and fit for an upcoming trip, I bought a pair of Scarpa Phantom 8000 boots and the La Sportiva Baruntse boots. I found that the combination of the Baruntse liner with the 8000 shell is the best combination for me. Subsequently, I have a brand new pair of the Baruntse shells with the warmer liners from the 8000 boots.
Both liner and shells are size 44/44.5. Note that the Palau liners from the 8000 boots are slightly thicker than the stock liners of the Baruntse, but they still fit inside the shells easily. Also note that like the stock liners, they are a very high quality heat moldable liner.
If you're looking for a great boot for Denali or any other cold climbing, this could be a great boot for you. I am asking $450 for this combination, as they are brand new, never used, still in the box. However, I would consider any reasonable offer.
