Is anyone interested in joining us for a Norway trip next summer?
Because I am working through the next winter and since July 4th is on a Wednesday, I have an opportunity to take time off in summer, which is unusual for me. We might as well head north. Unfortunately, it will still have to be a short trip.
We'll be there June 28-July 10, which includes a full day stopover in Iceland.
The plan so far is to climb Galdhopiggen, Gittertind, Romsdalshorn, and other peaks, plus visit the obligatory spectacular but touristy point of Preikestolen.
We'll also spend several other days in the Romsdal region, since it looks to have the most spectacular scenery that is accessible for a repetitively short trip. Romsdal is referred to as the Chamonix of Norway.
Thus far it is only Kessler and I, so we could use another lead climber for the north face of Romdalshorn (the other peaks planned thus far are non technical). Because of our weight difference, Kessler would have to lead all of the pitches if it is just us two, so it would be nice to have another lead climber so we can switch leads.
Norway can be expensive, but there are nice campgrounds in all of the climbing areas, so the plan is to camp in the campgrounds all nights except for one night in Iceland.
Airfare was $818 round trip out of Denver.

Of course if anyone from Europe wants to join us, that would be even better! It would be great to meet some European members!
