As far as I know no overnight permits are being issued for Grand Teton National Park. So I guess that means if you have to spend the night in the back country you are illegal. Does anybody know if there are plans to start issuing permits? I will probably be there last week of August, first week of Sept. Spending a night up high opens up a lot more possibilities for me. Also, I wonder what happens if you plan a day climb and simply can't get back out in time and have to spend the night. Do you risk a fine or are they understanding if it's obvious you didn't intend to do it?
