seeking public assistance in locating missing hiker

by Colorado_SAR » Thu Oct 08, 2020 7:05 pm

The Summit County Rescue Group seeks any information that may help us find missing hiker Ken May. Ken left the Willowbrook trailhead on the morning of October 7th with the intention of summiting Silverthorne Mountain. His last known point was on the ridge between Silverthorne Mountain and the Thorne, where he took a photo. His GPS tracking device then shows him descending the ridgeline toward Salmon and Willow Lakes. Mr. May is 5' 6", 130 pounds, 71 years old, wears glasses, is wearing khaki hiking pants and either a helmet or broad-brimmed sun hat, and is carrying a blue backpack.

The Summit County Rescue Group searched for him all night and is continuing the search today. Any hikers that have been in this area in the last 24 hours and might have information about Mr. May are asked to call Charles Pitman at 970-333-9856.
