One Man Tent

by William » Fri Dec 04, 2020 2:31 pm

Hi guys,

I'm having a rest from electronics and computer programming and want to start mountaineering again. Could someone recommend a one man tent. I had a TNF mountain marathon but the elastics in the poles no longer work.

Thanks guys!

Why not send your poles back to North Face and have them restrung?

Never knew they could be restrung! Can any mountaineering store do that?

I've decided to purchase a 4 season 1 man tent from MSR.

For anyone reading this in future: you can do it yourself, it's really easy, and elastic cord is plentiful and cheap online. You want to choose cord that's roughly the same width as the original, so it fits well (including knots) and handles similarly, but it doesn't hurt to go a tiny bit thicker and stronger so you won't have the same problem again in a couple of years.
