Climbers Defacing Cabo?

by sshankle » Mon Jul 03, 2006 8:05 pm

I have never been as ashamed (as a fellow member of the climbing community) with the action of another member of the climbing community as I was when I saw this. These are 7' off the sand on the most prominent boulder (of no climbing value) on one of the most visited beachs in Mexico.

The only reasonable explanation for why they'd even be anywhere near hear in this fashion would be test the corrosion resistnace, but there are a million less obvious (and destructive) places to do that.

IMO, whoever did this should be handcuffed to them, in July, without sunscreen...nude. Or educated in ethics. I don't wish to start an ethical debate, but I just don't see any excuse for this one!
