ACONCAGUA PERMIT

by markdolan » Sun Dec 10, 2006 9:31 pm

Hello. I'm planning a trip in Jan 07 up the Vaccas Valley to the summit. Does anyone know if the permit is still $330 or has it increased. Also what kind of winter did aconcagua have heavy or light snow year. TKS.

I have been checking around for awhile. seems like it is the same price as last year. The official permit site lists it in pesos but it converts to the same. Let us kow if you find out differently. Good luck on your climb.

At about 3 pesos per dollar, isn't that 700 pesos about US$230, not US$330? Does it go up to 1000 pesos after New Year's?

that's for "half season" :!:
Quid :?:
something between low and high season
high season is indeed 1000 (Arg. $ = Pesos). Check this page, will give you a clue:

"Also what kind of winter did aconcagua have heavy or light snow year."

They say that the Aconcaguazone received more snow than usual last winter. However, the Canaletta was almost free of snow at the beginning of december. I got no idea about the conditions on the glacier.
