Our neighborhood is between two open corriders. There are a lot of deer. I come home and find them in my front yard on a regular basis.

Out of the corner of my eye, I at first thought I saw Obama running from a crowd of reporters ranting something about his "stupid" comment, however upon a closer look at the photo, it appears that............

I ran into this shedding black bear last weekend. I spooked him and he gave me just enough time to get a quick shot before disappearing into the woods.

My buddy almost stepped on this pin cushion while crossing and avalanche debris field on your way up to Mt. Peale

I'm not completely certain what I saw. The thing was approximately 150 yards in front
of me. When I called out its name, it told me most folks call it "Bigfoot."

Didn't respond to the name "Craig," but that's a great likeness.

Magoo - you need some new material. :?

I wasn't hiking at the moment, but driving up to Jones Pass yesterday a pine marten darted across the road in front of me. He was serious about covering as much ground as possible as quickly as he could! Beautiful!

Right now, I'm sitting listening to a red fox rasping outside. There are several residents in my neighborhood and every now and then they get very active. It's the neatest thing to listen to!

Also saw the two fawns grazing in the neighbor's yard this morning, without their mama. I hope she's okay but am worried since it's unusual to see two spotted babes without their maternal protection. I think they have a nest in a grove of pine not too far from here.

And the/a bear came back through a couple of nights ago. Knocked a few things around but couldn't get into the garbage since we now have a bear box. Sightings keep getting earlier and earlier as less forage becomes available in the wild and more available in the neighbor's trash.

Elk should start bugling here pretty soon.

While hiking this weekend, we saw about 20 deer, 50 free roaming bison and a couple coyotes in the Henry Mountains.

While the Tushar Mountains, we saw a few deer, and a couple dozen mountain goats.

The other day I walked alone into Monte de El Pardo mediterranean forest for watching Perseids. I couldn't see the wild boars with my tiny Tikka but I listened their grunts

What's the difference between a marten, fisher, and a mink? When I started trekking down Mt.Marcy I saw something in the trees and it kept growling at me. Everytime I put the camera to my face it would hide behind a tree and jump to another branch and do it again. Never got that photo. Somewhere around 5000ft up.
