Screen resolution of 1024x786?

I'm more curious than anything, but how do you go about making a page of a screen resolution of 1024x786? Does it have to do with picture size (pixels)?

I use 1024x786 screen resolution. 90% of the time, I usually don't have a problem.
However, on the odd occasion, I do run into problems and have to tweak the HTML to accomodate the smaller screen size.
A section under one of my Area/Range pages, I had to do this. The map I have of the quadrangles in Utah spilled over the page & forced a navigation bar at the bottom.
So I have to re-check pages at work to make sure everything displays correctly.

1024x786

It's 1024x768, remembered by the fact that both are multiples of some power of 2: 256 ( 2^8 ) in this case.
