That's nice, and it's probably the best way to go from beginner to intermediate to master of the art!

Ouch!

Are you on a lap top with a wireless connection?

Ha! Just to be clear it was a joke. Right now I am a beginner all over again...

(don't think I was on the laptop when I posted that ...)

Take a newb on an outing; you'll see what 'beginner' means  . I think there are a lot of small skills we take for granted after going out in the mountains for a few years.

Perhaps more like "A key to achieving mastery is to know you are always beginning."

Not to put words in anyone's mouth. Just my take...

Intermediate Requirements:
– TR a 5.9
– Bag Whitney by the Mountaineers Route
– Own all your own gear
– Know the grapevine knot and use it regularly
– Lead a 3-pitch route

...as decreed by Me, Mr. Know-It-All

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities - but in the expert's mind, there are few.

Alipine-wise, supposedly, Aconcagua is a beginners mountain and Denali is an intermediate. So if you've done Denali, you're an intermediate.
