conditions In Ruth Gorge----- El nino years...

any one have any ideas on this?? Just in my general observations the weather seems a little all over the place this year. How are things faring up in AK??? Anyone know of any good weather web sites to keep tabs on the mountain weather around the Denali area???
any help is much appreciated..

Around Anchorage we are having a very normal snow year, and temps have been about average. So El Nino doesn't seem to be creating much drama.

Up toward the Alaska range it looks as though they may be running significantly below normal for snow so far:

But this is very low elevation data from just one station. This is not like the Rockies--nobody is collecting much hard data!

It's been warmer and windier than average in the interior (I live in Delta Jct). No major cold snaps or excessively warm spells (it's stayed below freezing but often above zero). Pretty normal for snow here too, maybe a little low. Keep an eye out during spring, if the current trend continues, it may warm up fast and early (April). Expect heavily wind loaded snow conditions (wind out of S to E).
