Avalanche Danger RMNP Sharks Tooth.

by Erik Beeler » Wed Mar 24, 2010 2:24 am

I see that the avalanche danger has been fairly high in CO and might be rising in the next couple of days. Is anyone aware is the approach route to The Sharks Tooth is avalanche prone? We are scheduled to make an attempt at the NE Ridge over the weekend. Should we be looking to formulate some alternate plans?

Yeah, you might want to come up with a Plan B. They're calling for 1-2 feet in the mountains tonight. Won't know for sure until the Storm goes through, but it looks like we're in for a real dumping over the next day or so. Whatever you end up doing, make sure you check the CAIC website on Friday to get some last minute intel:

The approach from the Gash goes under slopes that are prone to slide, especially in the current conditions.
