Try again: V-notch

by Snowball » Wed Apr 14, 2010 10:46 pm

Looking for a partner(s) to climb the V-notch Couloir, 1200 ft, class 5 (on 14,000ft peak in Palisades, near Bishop Calif) sometime between april 20-30. your choice of dates! I went there last week and there is A LOT of snow. too much to snowshoe the 8 or 9 miles up to the palisades glacier with heavy packs.

So i am planning to return with SKIS!!! yay!!!

I don't mind leading it or swapping leads. If you dont have skis, then you should plan for 2 hard days of snowshoeing on the approach and 1 day for the climb and exit. I have all the needed group/winter climbing gear we need (rope, tent, protection, stove, etc). Also posted this on P&P. So.... who wants to climb mountains? :D

Isn't this route ice in the late summer? So it's probably covered in snow right now, right?
I'll climb it when it's purdy ice, but snow??
