Anti-ball plates for Charlet Moser mountaineering crampons

by Rinat Shagisultanov » Tue May 11, 2010 5:45 am

Any suggestion what may work? These the general mountaineering CM crampons before Petzl got them. The system that is used by Petzl looks different from what I had. Any idea what may work for the older CM crampons (2001-2002 model)?

Contact Mammoth Mountaineering Supply at (888) 395-3951 in the morning after 8AM. Just saw some still hanging on the wall this morning that have been there for a couple of years and will probably fit your pons and are actually original CM's and not Petzl.

I have the CM Super 12 crampons also and wanted to add the anti snow plates. I found some here:

http://www.mountaingear.com/pages/produ ... 159/N/1035

The price seemed a little steep though so rather than spend that much just for the plates I decided to pony up some more and upgraded to some new stainless steel BD Sabertooths. Good luck!

Aside from corrosion resistance, is there any advantage to the stainless steel?

Not that I know of, although the ss may stay sharper longer, I have yet to give them a try...
