Bishop pass conditions?

by Cody » Tue Jun 01, 2010 8:36 pm

Anybody been up Bishop pass lately? I'm thinking of heading up Agassiz in a few days. Bring snowshoes along or can get by without?

Thanks.

I was in that area last Sunday. Although the snow was soft in the afternoon, snowshoes were not necessary at all. The snow coverage most mostly continuous from shortly after the South Lake TH. I didn't go over Bishop Pass, but talked to some people who did and they didn't mention any problem in doing so. As with all peaks in that area, Agassiz had plenty of snow still.
