I'm planning on creating a page for a mountain in Guatemala. I'm wondering if there is precedence for bi-lingual pages, and if that is encouraged or discouraged. I'm a native English speaker, but speak Spanish close to fluently (I live in Guatemala.)
Any input appreciated.

I don't think it's either encouraged or discouraged, but it might be more effort than it's worth. If a page is put up in a language other than English, then it might be worthwhile to translate into English since I suspect the majority of SP members are English speakers, whether native speakers or learned as a second language. Now I could be wrong about the last statement. I've never seen any data on the different languages spoken by SPers.

I prefer Esperanto, but English is the lingua Franca. C'est ironique, n'est-ce pas?

It may be an international site, but if you look at the posting guidelines, the standard for pages is English.
