Predictions for Shasta/Casaval Ridge?

by deungsan » Tue Mar 22, 2011 5:50 am

Hi.

Considering all the snow Shasta already had, received last week and will get this week...

Does anyone care to guess what conditions on Casaval Ridge will be like in mid-April?

I have a business trip to NorCal planned and would love to drive over and take a shot at it.

Thanks.

With the deep snowpack, mid April will have awesome conditions. Hopefully the Everett will be open by then, additional snow fall this week will be measured in feet! Weather will be your biggest concern, I still consider April late winter as opposed to early spring!

Good luck and enjoy, Casaval is a great route!

Thank you, sir. Pretty cool to get a reply from Shasta Mountain Guides.

Back in 1995, you guys led me up Avalanche Gulch--a successful climb of my first big mountain.

The skills I learned (rest step, pressure breathing, self-arrest, self-belay, camponing, etc.) have served me well over the years.
