Hi all,

I've never been to Chamonix before &the website of Chamonix is **** (like so many French websites ), so I was wondering if anyone could give me the address of an outdoor shop that sells Esbit tablets. I've read that 1 in 2 shops in Chamonix is a mountaineering shop, so this is not an impossible question

I do not know if you will find what you are looking for...But the best shop and the most expensive is Snell Sport. It is on 104 Rue Doct Paccard. you cannot miss it.
There are several other outdoor stores in various part of the town, you just need to take a walk around and you will bump into them.

Sorry, but I dont' understand the connection between Chamonix tourist office website and Esbit tablets...

I was hoping for an overview of the various shops in the village (as some village websites give)...

if freedom of the hills is "the climbers bible" than "snell" would undoubtedly be the climbers holy temple they have just about everything you could want 3 Flores, dedicated rope room repair service.
No other store I chamonix valley has such a comprehensive selection
i only go in with the intent to buy or else i could lose my clothes getting all kind of stuff i don't need.
