trails / conditions around Tahoe

by mountainal » Mon Jun 06, 2011 4:29 pm

me and the GF are headed out to Tahoe this coming weekend. Curious what it's like. Are there any clear trails or are most still snowed in? Any suggestions on easy and moderate hikes? Or, what else is cool to do around there? Thanks for any help and advice.

Anything at the TRT elevation or above is going to be snow covered. (This rules out most of Desolation)
We got ~4-6 inches here last night near Heavenly. Snowlines look to be 6500-7000.

Supposed to warm up and dry up from Wednesday onwards. Lake level should be snow-free this weekend.

Ya I was worried we'd be limited in options due to the snow. Same story here in Utah. Guess we'll just hit some of the trails and see what happens.

Here's Jobs/Jobs Sister (left) from this afternoon.

It warmed up a bunch this week and stuff is melting fast- but there's a phenomenal base up at the higher elevations.
