Going to hike to Red lake and attempt a climb of Split this weekend. Anyone been there recently? Snow conditions? This is the first time I've attempted Split. Got plenty of info on route from trip reports. Looking for recent conditions. Thanks.

I hiked it from Upper Basin a couple of weeks ago. Maybe my pictures can help a bit - #68 through #74 were taken at the saddle and capture some of the snow conditions in the area. Sorry, no captions yet. But the north slope from the saddle all was clear - only a couple of snowfields that were no problem getting around or over.
