Going through some photos from my Uncle's collection. This cabin was still there when I first climbed Mt Baker in about 1969??? Yipes!!! I posted that pic on the Baker page and its about third row down on the opening page of Baker. Maybe I'll do a trip report from his pictures... Seems like the Glaciers were noticably bigger in those days... Que paso???

I have walked past the remains of the cabin many times, but the picture helps to remind me of the not so distant histroy of the mountain. Very cool.

Here is my 1969...I think... picture, not a good profile, but that's what my Kodak Slide showed, my first Volcano climb...


Just a flat spot next to the trail now, should have a sign or some memorial???

Great pic Norman. Always wondered what the story of the Kulshan cabin was. Who built it and when. Seems like an odd place to camp before a summit try. Maybe the trail started lower back then cause the road didn't go as far? Any oldtimer's know? Norman?

If my memory serves me correctly, the cabin was still there when I climbed Baker for the first time in 1985. Glaciers were definitely bigger in 1969, but I believe the Roosevelt and Coleman Glaciers are still in advance of where they were in 1946. Both glaciers advanced a lot from 1945 to 1985.
