In the Sierra these names come to mind: Black Kaweah, White Wing Mountain, White Fang, Sky Haven, Picture Puzzle, The Citadel, Apeture Peak, Clouds Rest and of course Cloudripper.

Actually, if you want super creative titles I've always found the name of verticle climbing routes to be the most entertaining.

Climbing route names are great, of course (what's not to like about "Smearing Skills or Hospital Bills"), but they just don't have that official stamp on them like mountain names do. Mountain names go from the reverent (Mount of the Holy Cross - I swear I'm going to Colorado just to climb that) to dramatic (Cloudripper is one of my all time favorites) to hmm? (what does it take for a government worker to enter "Fern's Nipple" into an official register somewhere?)

Always liked the Seven Devils Range in Idaho: He Devil, She Devil, The Ogre, The Imp, etc.

Also have always had a soft spot in my heart for Couchsachraga Peak in the Adirondacks, which unless you know Algonquin doesn't mean much, but is loosely translated into "dismal wilderness".

I like Tetons, as do 50% of people.

I must be in the other 50% ... out in left field. The Tetons are too cold and crowded for me. I prefer weekday jaunts in the desert.

As long as I have a cool beverage ... I will survive.

Most of my favorite names have been mentioned, but one name I've always liked is from a peak I climbed back in 1980 (yeah, I'm that old).

Mount Defiance

From the name, one might picture a glacier clad, storm battered monster near the Gulf of Alaska, but no... this one is a brush covered nuisance in Pinnacles NM.

I immediately thought of The Cloudmaker in Antarctica

Anyway I've always thought that the Welsh mountains sounded like they were named by Tolkein. Yr Wydffa, Dinas Mot, Crib Goch... kind of makes you feel you're simply walking into Mordor (but far more photogenic!)
