North Peak / Conness Conditions

by webenji » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:44 am

Looking for some beta on the conditions around Saddlebag Lake, especially for North Peak, Mount Conness, and White Mountain. Do the "normal" (easier class 2-3) routes require crampons/axe? Has anyone checked out the couloirs on North Peak and can comment on their conditions?

I'm probably going to check them out regardless, but would love some information to smartly prepare my load...

Any information or pictures would be greatly appreciated,
Ben

North Peak couloirs taken last Saturday from Exclesior Peak. The white above the couloirs is Mt. Conness in the background.

Thank you for this great information! There is actually a lot more snow than I anticipated. Do you have some more shots of the region that you wouldn't mind sharing?

Not sure if this helps, but here is a view from May 27 - so about 2 weeks ago - showing both Conness and North Peak: http://www.summitpost.org/view-southwes ... 7/c-536090

It is still Springtime, remember! So, definitely still a lot of snow
