Buck Mountain east face conditions

by Morlow » Wed Jul 11, 2012 3:55 pm

Hey I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what the east face of Buck is looking like these days. I was there a few weeks ago and it was nearly completely snowbound. A girl I work with in Yellowstone wants to climb a peak with me before her season ends in a few weeks and I thought Buck would be good, but I'm thinking it might be a snow climb still. If it's still a snow climb I would want to do something more mellow for her. Any chance it's climbable avoiding most steep snow on the face?

Not quite snow free but probably within two weeks.

Thanks. We will be climbing Tuesday. Sounds like it should be doable.
