North Maroon climbing fatality

Sadly, the 2nd fatality on North Maroon this summer.

Was he on the "normal" class 3/4 route?

Hey Harlan. Hope you are doing well. To answer your question (from the reports), yes, right below the chimney crux and right above the entrance to the second gully. Apparently his foothold gave out and he fell a good ways. Bad deal all around. RIP Derek.
