Auckland Volcanic Field (NZ)

by Baarb » Fri Nov 16, 2012 4:39 am

Hi, I was thinking about doing an Area/Range page on the Auckland Volcanic Field in New Zealand with maybe an attached Mountain page focusing on Rangitoto and some more on the climbing area on Mt. Eden. Have been to maybe a half dozen of the summits but there are plenty others so was imagining adding bits as I got to each one. Anyone got any material they think would be useful? Cheers.

Sure they're not very big but the views are good and sometimes you just want to know what the nearest thing to climb/wander up is. Some people here take the position that the site should be serious mountains and climbing only, some that everything goes and you should just pay attention to what you want to pay attention to. Given the lack of current oversight from the site owners and lack of consensus amongst everyone else you have what you have.
