Testa del Rutor Winter

by bob7 » Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:33 am

Hello evryone,

I would like to climb the Testa del Rutor in a few weeks time (end of March/beginning of April). I've done this in the summer but I have no idea how the conditions would be in the winter. Would it be all right to do it solo? I suppose all the crevasses are covered by firm snow this time of the year. Looking forward to your replies/input. Cheers!

When you just lokk into gulliver.it it seems to be done regularly from the SE side (i.e. not across the rutor glacier).

Sketch of the route:

At the aosta guides page the description via Rif. Scavarda includes a roped traverse of the Morionglacier :?
