Dawson's guide says that it is 2.3 miles on the S Crestone Road #939 from the town of Crestone to the trailhead to Willow Creek (N access to Kit Carson and Challenger Point). Does anyone know if that section of road is currently passable? I've got a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

According to my topos the TH is at 8900' and the road in has S & W exposure. Based on where I live in the Mosquito Range at 8500' it will be bone dry. Having said that, I've not been to the TH in a decade, so it's not current info.
