Looking for Enchantments beta

by TimmyC » Sun Apr 07, 2013 5:59 pm

My climbing partners and I have three Enchantments permits for this summer. Lots of great info already up here (http://www.summitpost.org/enchantments/mountains-rocks/p-170944) that covers two of the areas we'll be in, but not for the Snow Lakes zone. I'm looking specifically in the Temple and Nightmare Needles area. Beckey vol1 has been helpful for some ideas, but without scouting trips, I'm not sure what I'm looking for or where.

The goal is anything up to tough nines or mellow tens, preferably multi-pitch, or if single pitch then pretty high quality without long, circuitous walk-offs. The permit for the Snow zone is for the end of June, so I've got some time to gather info -- and for scouting trips! Figured I could start here to get some early ideas.

What we're considering so far:
Temple Ridge area
- Boxtop (likely the Standard route: http://www.summitpost.org/standard/164280)
- Comet Spire
- High Priest
- Temple itself
McClellan Ridge area:
- Nocturne Tower
- Fire Spire
- Fantasia Tower

And...? Thanks in advance for any ideas and/or beta.

I really liked Backbone ridge on Dragontail and S Face on Prusik. Super scenic place with lots of friendly goats...at times too friendly haha
