More new snow

by WyomingSummits » Sun Jun 02, 2013 11:26 pm

We got 12" new inches of snow at Powder River pass in the Bighorns over Thurs-Fri. That's at 9700ft. Higher elevations got between 2 and 3ft. The meltout is back in full swing as there has been a 4" melt in the last 24hrs, but the upper elevation stuff should be around for a while. Should be a great season for snowfields over 11k as the mid term forecast shows cool air with sporadic moisture. We're definitely in a surplus as far as moisture.....we got 1.5" more than average in May alone. A HUGE change from a severe drought last summer. Bring bug spray. :)
