Sisters OR - Conditions?

by EP » Tue May 21, 2013 3:52 pm

Looking to visit the sisters area this weekend from WA to backcountry ski & climb; would anyone be willing to share current conditions on any of the sisters? I'm aware of Rt 242 seasonal closure, and the Pole Creek TH limited access. Mostly wondering if there's good snow coverage on North Sister. Thanks, E

Sounds like anywhere from 1-9' of snow above 7000' according to the last Deshutes trail report. I'm headed up S. Sister this weekend and I'll let you know what that looked like when I get back.

We climbed Broken Top on the 2nd. Here's a trip report:

And from the summit, a pic of the South Sister:

Decided to postpone since the weather reports were iffy. Partly sunny and chance of thunderstorms doesn't sound like its worth the effort if I'm just going to get turned around before the summit.
