trail run / alpine route suggestions in/around Germany

by fossana » Sun Sep 29, 2013 5:49 am

I have 2 weeks in Europe starting mid-Oct and flying into Frankfurt. I will have a car. Does anyone have any suggestions for hilly dirt trail runs and soloable alpine rock routes (up to 5.6-7)? I hope to avoid wintery conditions at least on the harder parts, so I think I may be too late for something like the N Ridge of the Piz Badile. I have run the Black Forest trails near Ettligen on a previous trip and I would prefer something less flat with alpine views.

My schedule is flexible, but I would like to eventually make my way to Berlin at some point.

thanks,
Michelle

Michelle,

I would send MVS a PM. He is a super awesome dude and lives near Munich so has all the beta for that corner of the world.

Thanks, Excitable Boy. Will do.

Kevin, not sure yet about Switzerland unless I find something lower elevation to do. I have a bunch of abandoned building sites I wanted to check out in Germany and Belgium if I can't hit the mountains.
