Looking for partners near Jackson, WY

by aedwards » Fri Oct 18, 2013 2:44 pm

New to the Jackson area. Looking for partners, hiking, climbing, ice climbing this winter, x-country ski, downhill at JH, and looking to try backcountry skiing (easy). Plan on taking an avy course. Have gear, experience with multipitch, trad, etc.
Just looking for people to get out with. Doesn't need to be epic to be fun.
Thanks!

I'm not that close to Jackson, but wouldn't mind doing some more winter mountaineering there this upcoming season.

If you want to climb ice in the South Fork (Cody) this winter, give me a shout. I'm also up for doing stuff in the Beartooths (ice/rock/snow/hike). I know that's not in the Jackson area, but I glanced at your pictures and saw some Beartooth hills.

I'll be down for anything in the WY, MT area whenever I am off...shoot me a PM whenever you are looking for someone and if I am off from work I'll join you. I'll be working throughout Wyoming most of the fall/winter. I check SP all the time.

Cheers,
Matt Lemke

Thanks for the responses all. Sounds promising.
Message me if you're coming this way, and I'll message you if I'm looking to plan something a bit further away. Looking forward to getting to Cody and Hyalite. Rumor has it there's some good ice climbing in the Jackson area, if one's up to the approach and conditions are right.

I'm not an experienced ice climber, but have climbed plenty of rock and peaks. Always looking for new partners as people seem to bail last minute.....a lot. The older you get, it seems your potential partner pool gets whitled down. :)

Will get in touch.

Anyone else interested, text me at 612.802.4544

I have several easy/moderate routes in the Park I'd like to do, want to get out cragging, and do road trips.
Have gear, have led up a decent bit of 5.4-5.7 (and a tiny bit of 9+) in the Tetons, followed up to low 5.10.
Free weekends and evenings.

Thanks,
Andy
