Gore-tex Salopettes for around £300

by seb » Fri Dec 20, 2013 12:02 am

Im buying a £330 on a mountain equipment TUPILAK and i really dont want to spend more on my salopettes than i do on my shell i really like the arc'teryx alpha sv bib (the crotch zip in particulare) though it's out of my price range. Any body know of any.
Thanks
(sorry bout the re-post)

Also a want a few things out of the sallopettes:
Gore-tex pro
Crotch zip (like on the alpha sv)
Preferably has full chest and back coverage
Completely windproof (so no E-vent, or Neo shell)

And one more thing is im looking at the kongur mnt salopette but im not sure because i have such a limited view of the product.

Just out of curiosity, why the need for crotch zip? Unless you are fully commando, you still have to take off the bib for #2? Since the zipper is at chest level, you'll have to unzip your jacket to do #1. If you have a harness on, that would be next to impossible. I had one of those bibs before, after one ice season of desperately trying to unzip so I can go pee, I sold them promptly after. Maybe I just didn't use them correctly?

you can get baselayers that are compatible, and it's a 2 way zip so you can do it from the back, also because i would imagine unless you held the flap for the bib you would get sh*t on it, un fortunatly the only baselayers i have found that are compatible is arc'teryx :P. The soft shell part with the zips is good for going through deep powder (exhausting and may be in need for waterproof if slushy snow) also it's just more pocket options. :P

I have a full crotch zip on my NW Alpine Salopette.... I've taken many shits with no problems. Unzip, make sure your harness is out of the way, pull base pants down past asshole and cock, drop shit, wipe, pull base up, re-zip, cringe at the fact that your shit just became a permanent fixture of the glacier for the next 15-30 years and climb on.

3 zipper pulls - one at the top, two multi-directionals wherever else you need them. I usually keep them positioned right between my legs, where I can grab one and pull up a couple inches to pull cock out to piss. It's VERY practical.
