where to get stoppers rewired

by WyomingSummits » Sat Mar 21, 2015 12:04 am

I have a bunch of stoppers and hexes I'd like to get rewired. What is the best way to go about this/place to send them to? I could put cord on them, but would rather the wires.

Why? My guess is that if you could find someone to do it, then it would cost you more than a new set of stoppers.

That's what I figured. I hadn't heard of anyone getting them rewired, but I'd also never asked the question. ;) Eh, guess I'll just stick more cord in them. Thanks.

I noticed your post on mountain project. There you said that you had some sets wired and others with cord. I think having options like that could be nice at times.

Yeah, the flexibility of the cord, plus the option of having longer extension on the cord is nice....but there's still something about the wires that I prefer. For one, on a deeper placement, if cord slips out of my hand it falls into the crack...wire stays rigid and clipable.

Talk to Jane and/or Larry Arthur at Mountain Tools in Monterey, California. You can easily Google them. They do all kinds of repairs of climbing gear, cams etc. I don't know if they do wires, but it's worth asking.
