April hike is in the books. We hiked to the summit of Cloud's Rest on 4/18/15 and it was snow free aside from (literally) one small ten foot patch on top (in which my hiking companion proceeded to make a snow angel). It was also a beautiful day -- sunny and 40's/50's. Perfect hiking weather. It was a pretty epic hike: from parking lot to summit and back, we registered just under 22 miles and 6,000 feet of elevation gain. It took us a little under 10 hours. The only downside was the glut of people wearing polo shirts and Converse shoes waddling their way up to Vernal and Nevada Falls in a congo line while we were just trying to get down. Someone is going to get themselve killed on the Mist Trail (if it hasn't happened already).
