Well it seems authorities may have solved who started the Morris fire

Don't know if they will have the same success with the Station Fire

For those interested both Google maps & Google Earth have updated the satellite imagery to reflect the Station Fire burn area from Big Tujunga Canyon heading east over to approximately Lake Ave. in Pasadena. They appear to have limited the update to the front range only but the resolution is quite high.

I am guessing this is probably at the request of some agency. Possibly to study the effects of erosion?

I have found it useful for recon

Well the San Gabs are ablaze once again. Looks like the Azusa Canyon area with smoke very visible from Downtown Los Angeles.

Sadly this OP in 2009 is true once again. In the general area of Azusa Canyon more specifically Camp Williams. Based on the GeoMAC fire perimeter map for the "Williams Fire" it appears most of the south ridge of Rattlesnake Peak has burned and the summit may go overnight. This is one of the best climbs in the San Gabriels. Very sad indeed.

Williams Fire from Burro Canyon Shooting Park on Sunday afternoon:

The fire perimeter seems to have come within 3,000 feet of the shooting park, but thankfully the wind is moving in the opposite direction.

From the trail camp at Limber Pine Bench (9,360 feet) in the San Gorgonio Wilderness in the San Bernardino Mountains:

At 4:18pm Sunday:
