I'm sorry, but the 7 summits are pretty lame in my opinion, and why would I care about a "team of arabs" who climbed them, that doesn't make their story any more enticing. From my point of view a 7 summitter is just a hiker with a shit ton of a disposable income. Or a huge ego, or both.

Since the pilot hasn't even been shot yet, there's no way to know what broadcasters (if any) will pick it up.

I think you need to see this more for what it is...

This looks more like a progressive message from the region, that arabs can work together. An issue that has been looming forever.

Seven summits aside, this is a pretty fresh concept...

haha. not at all! I'm just not a big fan of the 7 summits.

As for arabs working together?
that isn't anything special at all, do they really all struggle to get along any more (or less) than any other race?

now, if they were an arab team of quadriplegics attempting the 7 summits that would be actually inspiring, for overcoming their injury.
being a Muslim is not a injury. sorry...

I'm very disappointed in your ignorance sir.. It's very sad that you bring religion into this forum.

- Arab does not mean Muslim.
- Arab is not a race either.

Arab countries have historically not gotten along well at all, nor have they ever truly worked together as one - There has been a long history of political dispute and corruption.

Youth getting together to climb as one team is very encouraging- regardless of background, or the challenge at hand.

I hope they get the support they deserve.

LOL, i'm bored on xmas.

Climbing seven summits is a worthy goal despite the fact that people think they are overpriced hiking trips. A group of Arabs climbing seven summits is pretty cool. I hope they have a good time and learned from each other.

Now, if a group of arabs and jews and christians climb seven summits together, that would be totally awesome. Can you imagine the drama?

This I find incredibly cool, a 70 year old climbing the 7 summits and all 8000 m peaks, plus he just put up a new route! http://www.mounteverest.net/news.php?id=18939

your right, while I have not climbed any of the 7 summits, either the Cassin or the Muldrow on Denali is one of my lifelong goals. I have done a bit of highpointing in Washington state. Rainier and Bonanza, (the latter is a total slag heap) I hope to do Olympus this summer too.

Anyone hear of this guy:

http://www.youtube.com/user/unite4seven ... uZk2KN1zMw

Film Maker

He's the director of this show... Looks like he's taken some crazy shots with that camera of his... Loads of shots from Everest it seems... That must have been frikin tough to carry a professional DV camera at that altitude... ! Mental!

Wow, this looks really cool. It will also popularize mountaineering in general, which could be good and bad...(mostly good though!)
