Shepherd Pass trail conditions + Williamson

by brichardsson » Tue Jul 15, 2014 12:09 am

Just got back from hitting T/W, and the trail is pretty clean. There is only one patch of snow just below the pass that is easily traversed, quite soft, no need for ice ax or crampons. There is a pretty significant washout at around 10,000', below Anvil Camp, from the flash flood last year, but there is now a pretty good use trail developing that goes up approximately 100' to bypass it.

In addition, the snow is almost completely gone from the chute on the West face route, and is easily bypassed. Again, no special gear would be required. Well, except for a helmet of course...
Don't try to argue with idiots. You aren't the dumbass whisperer.
