We did Sun Ribbon>Galey>Sill yesterday. Again the snow was too firm to kick steps in the morning, but we were able to scramble up the moat at the base of SRA, avoiding the steeper part of the snow field. We carried, but didn't use crampons. I did, however, use my axe in a couple of spots on the snowfield and in the moat.
On the way back from Sill (~8:30 pm) we used the log crossing at the outlet to Third Lake with no issues.
