But it seems lately we’re turning into a photo cache for ‘pretty pictures’ of animals, flowers, trees, acorns, hell, family vacation pictures of the Grand Canyon.
I’m not so much complaining as I am grumbling a little bit. I LOVE drooling over climbing porn as I’m sure a lot of us do. Nothing looks better then someone sending a 5.11b, climbing steep snow/ice or jumaring a Tyrolean Traverse. Damn it. We need more climbing pictures of routes around here!
I very much appreciate the stuff that: Noah, The Chief, rpc, Liba, Brian C, Dow and others put up because it’s stuff I’ll never be able to do. I respect the talent, ability & determination. Plus, to put it mildly, climbers are an entertaining breed!
To all who do sport or trad climb, please keep putting your stuff up!! We love reading the reports, analyzing your route, foot or gear placements et al.
I know I’ve left a lot of people out and I apologize for that but seriously, a lot of us ‘round here who lack the ability to climb harder then 5.10 (myself included) still appreciate seeing it.
Any fool with a Kodak can catch an eagle swooping in to impale a fish or a hummingbird raiding a flower if the timing is right, and I would applaud them for possessing the ability & expertise to knowing when to capture that specific moment. But to climb a 5-pitch, 5.9R M3 C2 alpine route…well, that’s a whooole ‘nother thing!
