Training logs allowed?

by LesterLong » Wed Oct 31, 2012 12:07 am

I was wondering what the admins and mods think of members posting their workouts in their own threads.

If it's primarily for your own benefit, don't use the forums for that purpose. If you'd like, make a custom object and keep track of it there.

Thanks. Since others don't post their workouts, and rarely do people discuss their workouts here, it makes sense to keep it as a custom object.

Done.

A little off topic but I've been using this log for my runs. It's a bit older (Excel 97 template) but very detailed. I'm sure you could find a way to work stair climbs into it.

Why do people post workouts on-line? Is it so they can see their records from any web-enabled device (say, a smartphone at the gym)?

There are lots of sites that will let you post records for runs and workouts on line. Some have associated features, such as calorie calculators.

I had pancakes and strawberries for breakfast.

I like posting my workouts because, as you say, I can access them anywhere. Also, sometimes posting them spurs conversation about different workouts, performance, etc.

People post their climbs on-line for many reasons as well.
