I would like to get a pair of mountaineering boots. Any good suggestions on where to go in the Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins area? Thanks for the help.

+1 on Bentgate...just remember that they have weird weekend hours - closed on Saturdays and open on Sundays!

Try it on at the shop, then scour craigslist for exactly what you need. I got me a near new Feathered Friends parka that way a few years back the last time I went to AK and it was a lifesaver, at 1/3 the price.

Wilderness Exchange, downtown across the street from REI. They also have used gear there if you're trying to stay on a budget.
