Was wondering what climbs you all would recommend to someone that wanted to start getting out in the winter/spring. Marauders has given me quite a few to start with but was wondering what everyone else would recommend. Thanks for your input.

I'd say Grandeur Peak via Church Fork for sure. It's a safe hike with snow. Gobbler's Knob via Butler's Fork; I was just on that over the weekend and two weeks before and there's a point where the actual summer trail is kind of lost because it's covered in snow, but as long as you head towards the saddle between Gobbler's and Mt Raymond you'll be OK, but you are walking through the woods which is still easy. There are tracks there now because of me and a few others that go to the saddle, but not on the actual summer trail; two weeks ago there weren't any tracks. I'm not trying to suggest anything that would be too much - don't take that as an insult to your physical fitness and hiking/climbing/avalanche knowledge. There's plenty of peaks out there, but in the snow season you do need to be aware of avalanche danger, which is why I don't climb many peaks with snow because I'm by myself. Even hikes to Red Pine or White Pine Lake, or up Broads Fork would start to get you familiar with the temperature, snow, clothing needed, time it takes....
