North Ridge

Climbed through the North ridge. Conditions were not optimal. In the final 100 meters there was wet snow with ice underneath, could have pushed on but decided it was not worth the added risk for an acclimatisation climb. Fantastic views from the ridge though!

Easy rock climbing  Sucess!

My "Swan Song" in mountaineering. Started earnestly in 1998 (Mt Blanc) and now slowed down due to age (71) and a cerebrovascular accident in 2016.

Climbed this splendid rocky ridge in the company of my son Alexander and local guide Nils. We descended to Cabane de Moiry via the glacier. Gorgeous sunny weather!!! Highly recommended for rock climbing practice on fairly easy terrain!

Normal  Sucess!

Climbed this for the second time, for acclimating - because of bad weather took the normal route, snow, wind and fog at the summit.

North ridge  Sucess!

We stayed at the "Campsite" (parking) at the end of the road (P. 2349m) and started from there. Tracks to the Col du Pigne. Then continued alone and climbed the north ridge up and down.
