In 2002/2003 Piotr Morawski and Denis Urubko set up Camp IV at 7650 metres, so far the highest point ever reached in winter on K2.
On 14 January 2005 Simone Moro and Piotr Morawski made the first winter ascent of Shisha Pangma, along the Yugoslavian route on the south face.
On 8 April 2009 Piotr Morawski fell to his death in a crevasse on Dhaulagiri.
