The high popularity of Villarrica can mean than any delays to the regular group climbs by bad weather or the occasional avalanche can lead to them all heading up together on the first good weather day. The nature of the route means that slow organised groups can be circumnavigated however and you needn't get stuck. Leaving before dawn will also give you the mountain pretty much to yourself though you should get the appropriate permissions beforehand.
