Ptarmigan Spire

It is very important to notice this formation, and almost impossible not to. Once you see, know that you soon need to leave the goat trail and begin the Class 3 scramble to the saddle just left of the spire. Otherwise, your trip along the Ptarmigan Wall is going to end very soon. Glacier National Park, MT-- August 2009
