Last minute choice! After setting out to do the Bells but sleeping a couple extra hours we decided to climb the mileage friendly, Pyramid Peak. What a great day. Not what the forecast read either!

NE ridge from Bells LakeGot a very late start but trucked up the mountain, The theater was beautiful with rocks falling everywhere. Weather was perfect and met a few pretty cool climbers en route.
Really a fun mountain to climb, nowhere near as hard as it is boasted up to be

Standard RouteI agree w/ many of the others that this is not as hard as it is made out to be, at least w/ the new work done by CFI. However, there was plenty of class 4 to be had slightly off-route. It definitely is as steep as its reputation, and an awesome mountain from any angle!

Route Climbed: Northeast RidgeSome snow down low, a fun boot ski down the lower slopes. Lots of trail work being done by the CFI. #51

Beautiful but demanding climbClimbed Pyramid Peak last August with my buddy Nathan via the Northeast ridge. A fantastic climb and my favorite on a Colorado 14'er to date! The rockfall hazard can get pretty bad if the route gets crowded which is what happened while we were there.

niceGreat climb. New approach trail some folks were working hard on helps a lot. Found the route to be more solid than I would have guessed from reports, but was never behind/beneath anyone going up or down, that would have been maybe a different story. Fun climb, love the area. Aspen's a nice place to relax after a good day in the mountains!

NE RidgeSome loose rock up there, for sure. My favorite part about this mountian is seeing it from afar.

Route Climbed: Northeast Ridge Date Climbed: October 2, 2005Climbed with NE ridge with kalet. It was bomb. Lots of fun exposure, big cliff dropoffs. Even though the rock is loose I like the ledges that form as a result.

Route Climbed: Northeast Ridge Date Climbed: September 25, 2005Second time up this magnificent mountain... I doubt it will be my last! Had the good company of fellow SP member Natasha and her friends, as well as one of my best friends that introduced me to climbing 12 years ago! What a great day, incredible weather, breathtaking fall colors and fun climbing!!!!

Route Climbed: NE Ridge, Green Coulior Date Climbed: 26 September, 2005Climbed with my wife Kate. The weather was beautiful and we did not see another sole on the entire mountain.
The route was pretty uniteresting until the beginning of the ridge. It was easy to follow and what little snow remained did not cause any problems. We found some fun solid scrambling on the green rock of the Green Coulior.

Route Climbed: NE ridge, Green Couloir Date Climbed: Sept 25, 2005Incredible day! Fun climb, perfect weather, and beautiful views in every direction. The Aspen were in their peak color change. Pyramid has become one of my favorite summits.

Route Climbed: NE ridge Date Climbed: Sept 10, 2005A challenging mountain, but if you do not get off route the class 4 moves are minimal. We avoided the steep part of the pale green wall coming down. Tremendous views and an airy summit!

Route Climbed: NE Ridge Date Climbed: 13 August 2005With Martin Nagel, his third 14er. This was one of the most fun climbs I've been on. The scenery is beautiful, and seems to change every few minutes, as does the climbing. I didn't find the new route nearly as hard as I expected it to be (based on older descriptions). The new trail that's going in will make it easier to find the way up to the basin.

Route Climbed: green couloirNice trip but I'd rate the new std green couloir route only class 2 with occasional short class 3 - sort of defangs the mountain somewhat.
